The VDJ 70 Series was introduced in 2007, replacing the previous HDJ 70 Series models. The biggest upgrade was the introduction of the 4.5-litre V8 turbo-diesel engine (1VD-FTV), providing more power and torque compared to the outgoing inline-six diesels. This engine made the 70 Series more capable for towing and off-road applications while maintaining Toyota’s legendary reliability.
